When a Farmington base makes sense

When to move on

If Mesa Verde is the main focus of the next part of the journey, compare options nearer that park rather than automatically returning to Farmington. The same principle applies to an onward route through another part of the Four Corners. Moving accommodation has a cost in packing and check-in time, so compare the whole day saved rather than only the distance between towns.
